Jack LaLanne was well known as a television personality, inventor, and fitness pioneer. For over 30 years he encouraged audiences of his popular workout show, The Jack LaLanne Show, to “get up, exercise and feel good!” He was also a huge advocate for the importance of a healthy diet, full of organic, fresh fruits and vegetables.  However, many people are not aware that he was also a chiropractor!  Jack attended Oakland Chiropractic College and opened the first modern health spa using his chiropractic education to help people get into shape.  Jack’s involvement in chiropractic inspired his daughter, Yvonne, to become a chiropractor.  Jack LaLanne was an outstanding example of how the combination of proper nutrition, daily exercise and regular chiropractic care can lead to a long, optimal life!

 Jack’s nephew, Chris LaLanne, has continued his work in nutrition with the “Paleo Diet”.  This diet consists of basic foods such as plain meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, nuts, vegetables, fruits, berries and mushrooms. This was the food humans ate (during the Paleolithic Era)  before the agricultural and                 industrial revolutions which created highly processed and chemicalized foods that are largely responsible for the obesity and disease in our society.

 The great thing about “Paleo” recipes is that they are EASY & DELISH!!
